Reissue I posted two wins on the opening night of the city of Destin’s Upper Division Coed Softball Tournament at Morgan Sports Center on April 22. Reissue I beat Campbell’s Tree Care 21-19, then put Elite Motorsports away 28-17.
In the first game, Reissue I trailed 8-6 after three innings.
In the fourth, Tree Care scored three runs, and Reissue I took the lead in the bottom half with seven runs.
In the top of the fifth, Tree Care scored three runs for a slight lead, but not for long with Reissue I putting up five runs in the bottom half.
In the sixth inning, Tree Care scored two runs, and Reissue I answered with three for a 21-16 lead.
In the top of the seventh Tree Care could only muster three runs.
Top batter for Reissue I was Rico Campbell with a double and four singles for two RBIs. Michael Haynes hit a home run, a double and two singles for three RBIs, and Dune Farrone doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs. Jeremi Julo and Justin Martinez each hit a home run.
Anthony Gonzales connected for five singles for an RBI for Tree Care. Dustin Belletty doubled and hit three singles for an RBI; Aurbrey Claxton hit three singles for an RBI; and Matt Campbell three doubles for four RBIs.
In game two, Reissue I and Elite Motorsports battled with Reissue I pulling off a 28-17 win.
Reissue I jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the first two innings. By the end of three, Reissue I led 14-9.
In the fourth, Reissue I scored one run, and Elite Motorsports answered with six runs to tie the game at 15-15.
Reissue I came back strong with eight runs in the fifth and five in the sixth, while Elite finished with one run in the fifth and one in sixth.
Justin Martinez hammered out three home runs for nine RBIs for Reissue I. Chandler Ciereszewski hit two doubles and three singles for three RBIs, and Kurt Haynes connected for three doubles and two singles for five RBIs. Hannah Perez tripled and singled for an RBI.
Evan Hicks led Elite with seven RBIs on a home run, two doubles and a single. Ryan Herrera belted two homers and a single for four RBIs, and Cici Faulkner singled. Grayson Kemp knocked a home run.
In other tournament action:
Reissue II 14, Beau Esprit Custom Framing 10
Reissue II took the early lead, 7-1, and held on for the win.
By the end of five, Reissue II led 9-6.
The top batter for Reissue II was Noah Bailey with a homer and two singles for an RBI. Tristan Jefferson doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs, and Jason Little knocked a home run and a single for four RBIs.
Neil Barlow led Beau Esprit with two homers and a single for four RBIs. Sami Unterseh hit three singles for an RBI, and Shawn Woods hit a home run and a single for two RBIs.

Game 4: 6:30 p.m. – Campbell’s Tree Care vs. Beau Esprit Custom Framing.
Game 5: 6:30 p.m. – Reissue II vs. Reissue I
Game 6: 8 p.m. – Elite Motorsports vs. winner of Game 4.
