One person is dead and three others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early May 17 in Columbia County, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP report
According to the report, a 22-year-old Lake City man was driving a Nissan sedan north on County Road 245 when the driver “failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.” The Nissan left the roadway and struck a tree. The front right passenger, a 26-year-old Wellborn woman, died at the scene. The driver and two other passengers — an 18-year-old Lake City man and a 23-year-old Live Oak man — were airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
