The first-ever National ICEE Day is being celebrated with free treat offerings at five retailers across over 1,800 participating locations in the US.
Fans can receive a free small ICEE drink on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at select movie theatres, gas stations and adventure parks across the country.
“For decades, ICEE has been part of unforgettable moments for millions of fans, and National ICEE Day is our way of thanking everyone who has made the brand part of those memories,” said Dan Fachner, president and CEO of J&J Snack Foods, ICEE’s parent company.
The company aims to continue the tradition every August, marking this National ICEE Day the first of many.

When is National ICEE Day?
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, the first-ever National ICEE Day, dedicated to America’s Original Frozen Beverage, will be celebrated at participating retailers nationwide.
National ICEE Day is slated to return every August.
When was ICEE founded?
The ICEE Company was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1967.
It is a subsidiary of parent company J&J Snack Foods Corp., which acquired ICEE in 1987.
