The Miami Dolphins have seven picks in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft, which is Thursday April 23 to Saturday April 25.
Who general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan selects with a second round pick, No. 43 overall, could be impacted by which positions are addressed with two first-round picks.
Or, not.
Sullivan has tremendous flexibility as the Dolphins have a very thin, very unproven roster with perceived weaknesses at almost every position.
Here are the Top 8 ideal and possibly realistic players to be the board for Miami at 43:
Best Miami Dolphins NFL Draft options in Round 2
OT Max Iheanachor, Arizona State
Why? Max is probably not going to be available at 43. But, my goodness, if the Dolphins could secure a Twin Towers future of Max and Patrick Paul. Max is 6-foot-6, 321 pounds.
OT Blake Miller, Clemson
Why? A perfect right tackle prospect to succeed Austin Jackson in 2027 and serve in a swing role in 2026, with some guard reps always an option.
Edge Malachi Lawrence, UCF
Why? Lawrence has the upside to be one of the most impact pass rushers in this draft class. After losing Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips, Miami absolutely must add a pass rusher.
Edge Zion Young, Missouri
Why? Power. Nasty temperament. A solid low-ceiling pick.
CB Chris Johnson, San Diego State
Why? Likely starter at an outside cornerback position. Quick. Fluid. Tough.
Edge R Mason Thomas, Oklahoma
Why? Physical complement to Chop Robinson at edge. High motor. Competitive. Relentless.
CB Brandon Cisse, South Carolina
Why? Fast, fluid, outside corner prospect with room to grow. Not a finished product.
G Keylan Rutledge, Georgia Tech
Why? Immediate starter at guard. Impact in run and pass game. Tough. Intense. Safe.
