Leon County Sheriff's Office investigates shooting in northeast Tallahassee

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in northeast Tallahassee.

At about 10:45 p.m. Feb. 6, the agency posted on Facebook that a person was shot in the 5400 block of Touraine Road in the Lafayette Oaks neighborhood. The call came in as an unwanted person with a weapon at 9:40 p.m., according to the city’s online crime map.

An LCSO spokesperson said the victim was an adult male, who was transported to the hospital with “severe” injuries. The agency provided no other details including the circumstances of the shooting or if there were any suspects.

“The incident remains under investigation,” the agency posted. “There is no threat to the community.”

The agency also investigated a shooting off Ridgeland Court in north Tallahassee.

Witnesses reported hearing five gunshots at about 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 7 and seeing about 15 deputies respond in marked and unmarked cars. An LCSO spokesperson confirmed shots were fired, but said no one was injured. She added that a man was arrested in the incident, but had no other details on the circumstances of the shooting.

So far in 2026, there have been at least six serious shootings in Florida’s capital city and county that left three injured and two dead. The Tallahassee Police Department is also investigating a Jan. 4 homicide, their first of the year, but have not said how the victim was killed.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story included an incorrect date of the shooting and the geographic location for Lafayette Oaks.
