Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter didn’t have much idle time during training camp practice No. 14 on Aug. 17 at the Miller Electric Center.
Hunter went through his busiest day of camp, not counting the joint practice with the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 13, with the heaviest concentration on defense both in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 team periods.
Hunter had two plays that stood out: On offense in a 7-on-7 period, he adjusted quickly to a ball thrown behind him by Trevor Lawrence, and while being defended closely by Devon Marshall, almost made a catch a contortionist would have been proud of.
Then on defense during an 11-on-11 period that was a two-minute drill. Hunter knocked down a Lawrence pass intended for C.J. Williams and celebrated by yelling, “Boom!”
He also broke up a pass intended for tight end Nate Boerkircher and had Brian Thomas Jr., blanketed on a deep route that Lawrence overthrew. Hunter caught one pass on offense, a short route over the middle.
