Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence, Travis Hunter star in Adidas commercial together

Jacksonville Jaguars players Trevor Lawrence and Travis Hunter got a jumpstart on their relationship when the two players shot a commercial together earlier this year.

Adidas, which both athletes are signed to, recently released a video with Hunter and Lawrence bonding at the indoor facility of the Miller Electric Center in Jacksonville. The video, which debuted Sept. 3, featured some dance moves from Hunter and attempted dance moves from Lawrence with Deniece Williams’ “Let’s Hear it for the Boy” playing.

“That was one of the first times I got to spend some time with Travis,” Lawrence said during his weekly media availability. “We shot it back in the offseason, so it was a lot of fun. He’s got a lot more, I guess, personality than I do so he kind of carried the team in that one.”

They even featured Hunter hitting a backflip and the same handshake the pair did while training in the Bahamas.

It’s garnered more than 100,000 views on the Adidas US Football X account and has been featured on other social media platforms as well.

“I kind of left it all out there,” Lawrence quipped when asked why he didn’t hit a backflip. “It was more than I wanted to, but it was good.”

Lawrence spent some time to reflect on how much his relationship with Hunter has grown since shooting that commercial. The pair made it through minicamp, training camp, the preseason and are now days away from their first regular season game together.

There’s been a ton of growth from both as Lawrence gets familiar with Hunter and vice versa.

“It’s still the beginning of hopefully a long time playing together,” Lawrence said of Hunter. “It’s been awesome, he’s a guy that is easy to talk to, to work with, he wants to be great, wants to get better, running routes after practice, doing all the little things.”

Lawrence has always spoken highly of the rookie two-way star, even trying to give insight to some of the pressure Hunter might deal with during the offseason. He was awed by the energy Hunter brought to the preseason, commenting on how noticeable the shift was during the team’s stadium scrimmage.

While Lawrence still is excited to see Hunter be featured on both sides of the ball, he’s more focused on what he’ll do on offense.

“I’m more worried about him on offense. Not as in, I don’t want him to play defense,” Lawrence said. “I’m just worried about what we’re trying to do on offense and staying focused on that, but it will be cool to see him. It’ll be cool to see him doing both. Haven’t seen that, so it’ll be pretty cool.”

Lawrence, Hunter and the Jaguars will face the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 7 at 1 p.m.
