Jaguars AFC South foe fires head coach after Week 6

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ division foe, the Tennessee Titans, have fired head coach Brian Callahan, the team announced on Monday.

This was Callahan’s second season at the helm after being the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator for several seasons.

Under Callahan, the Titans mustered a 3-14 record in 2024 and held the No. 1 pick in this past April’s draft, where they took quarterback Cam Ward.

This season, the Titans were just 1-5 before Callahan was dismissed. According to ESPN, the Titans have scored only 83 points the entire season.

Serena Burks of Titans Wire had this to say:

“The Titans are an incredibly undisciplined team, and Callahan shot himself in the foot too many times for “not knowing” specific rules.”

Tennessee has not named an interim head coach at this time.

This is the latest move by the Titans in what has been a three-year span filled with organizational turnover.

The Jaguars were 2-0 against Callahan’s Titans last season. The two teams have not yet met in 2025.

The first meeting of this season won’t take place until Week 13, when Jacksonville travels to Tennessee. The Jaguars then conclude the 2025 season at home against the Titans.

The Titans released a statement once the decision was announced:
