The Jacksonville Jaguars and the rest of the NFL must have their 53-man rosters set by 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday.
The Jaguars have already gotten an early jump on their roster reshaping, and it didn’t come in the form of a release but rather a trade, with Jacksonville sending Fred Johnson to Philadelphia.
Before any roster news broke, we made our final roster prediction for the Jaguars and also discussed which projected releases were the most difficult to make.

Here’s a list of every Jaguars roster cut and move
QB Seth Henigan waived
It’s not surprising that the Jaguars are rostering just two quarterbacks on the 53-man–many do that. Tom Pelissero added that the Jaguars are expected to bring Hengian back on the practice squad if he clears waivers. Henigan was competing with Wolford for the QB3 role. Not surprisingly, the Jaguars went with the younger, higher upside talent to be their practice squad quarterback.
CB Jabbar Muhammad waived
Signed as an undrafted rookie, Muhammad played out of the slot with the Jaguars. He allowed seven receptions on nine targets for just 34 yards. He graded out well against the run by PFF’s metrics.
DT Jordan Jefferson waived
Early in camp, it looked like Jefferson may have been in a position to push for a roster spot, but in recent weeks, Austin Johnson emerged, Arik Armstead and Maason Smith returned from injury, and the Jaguars traded for Khalen Saunders.
OT Javon Foster waived
After the Jaguars made six additions along the offensive line between free agency and the NFL draft, it became clear that Foster was on the outside looking in from the jump. Walker Little, Chuma Edoga, Patrick Mekari, Anton Harrison, Wyatt Milum, and Cole Van Lanen all remain options at the tackle positions.
RB Ja’Quinden Jackson waived
Jackson had a really impressive training camp, and I imagine the Jaguars want him back on the practice squad. However, in a running back room that features Travis Etienne, Tank Bigsby, Bhayshul Tuten, and LeQuint Allen, there wasn’t room on the 53-man roster for Jackson.
LB Chad Muma released
Like Thomas, Muma found himself in a crowded linebacker room with several players from the 2024 team returning, along with the Jaguars drafting Jack Kiser and Jalen McLeod. Kiser’s play this summer seemingly earned him a backup role on defense, while he comes to the NFL with ample special teams experience. His presence limited Muma’s impact, as he has been a core special teams contributor in his career.
S Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig waived
Silmon-Craig was signed as a UDFA out of Colorado after the 2025 NFL draft. He played 92 defensive snaps this preseason, totaling seven tackles, while allowing one reception on three targets for seven yards. Silmon-Craig played 30 special teams snaps as well. He is a candidate to return to the practice squad.
S Daniel Thomas released
In short, the safety room became too crowded. The Jaguars added Eric Murray, Caleb Ransaw, and Rayuan Lane this offseason. Also returning were Andrew Wingard, Darnell Savage, and Antonio Johnson, all of whom were competing for starting snaps. With Lane on the roster, he can fill the special teams-heavy role that had belonged to Thomas.
QB John Wolford released
Wolford joined the Jaguars’ practice squad last December. He was brought back early this offseason as someone who is familiar with Coen’s offense, having spent time in Tampa Bay during the 2024 offseason and with the LA Rams in his career. Wolford could still be back on the practice squad, or the Jaguars will instead go with Seth Henigan as their third quarterback.
CB De’Antre Prince waived
As training camp went on, it became clearer that Christian Braswell seemed to have control of the potential final roster spot at cornerback, leaving Prince on the outside looking in. Braswell played well in the second preseason game, didn’t play in the third, and was with the ones while Tyson Campbell was sidelined.
