A new boutique is bringing luxury Italian leather goods to a key location on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach.
Christopher King opened his eponymous shop in the historic Worth Avenue Building at 201 Worth Ave. in November, after several weeks of interior and exterior renovations to the space. The storefront on the corner of South County Road was for many years the home of Linda A. Gary Real Estate, which has moved down the street.
The store, which is King’s flagship, offers leather items designed by King and handmade by Italian craftsmen, the company said.
The space includes pops of King’s trademark “Kingsway blue” — seen on an accent wall, on a sofa’s upholstery and, of course, on some of the handcrafted bags on display. In addition to handbags, King designs and sells travel bags, business-card holders and wallets, plus housewares such as porcelain dining sets, bath towels, napkins and bedding.
While the colors vary, so do the materials: King works with alligator and ostrich leather in addition to cowhide.
King spoke via email with the Daily News about his new flagship, what it means to his brand and what it means to Palm Beach.
Why did you choose Palm Beach for your new location? What makes Palm Beach a great place for Christopher King?
I have always enjoyed visiting Palm Beach. The weather, the discretion and the old world elegance resonate deeply with me. When the opportunity came to establish our flagship here, it felt right. Palm Beach understands heritage, restraint and permanence. It is one of the few places left where quality matters more than logos, and where clients value craftsmanship, history and personal relationships. Christopher King was built for people who value longevity over trends, and Palm Beach shares that same sensibility. Establishing a long-term home here felt natural.
What does it mean to you to be in such a prominent position on the avenue?
This corner location is truly unique and special. Worth Avenue carries a rare credibility that has remained intact for decades. It is as elegant and relevant today as it was years ago. Being here places Christopher King among brands that have earned their reputation over generations, not seasons. For us, this is not about visibility alone. It is about validation. It signals that we are building something serious, enduring and worthy of the address. We approached Worth Avenue with patience, respect and intention. I am humbled to be here and excited to build meaningful relationships within this community.
What are some of the features inside the boutique aimed at enhancing the shopping experience?
The boutique was designed to feel more like a private residence than a retail store. Natural materials, custom furniture, brass details and hand-selected Italian antiquities define the space, including the antique angel mirror that hangs in the main room. Every detail reflects the same standards as our products. Clients are invited into a slower, more personal experience where conversation matters, touch matters and time matters. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is mass produced.
What have been some of the top sellers since you opened on Worth Avenue?
Our leather goods have resonated immediately, particularly the Lady 20 and our newest design, the Piccolo clutch in nubuck crocodile. Clients appreciate that each piece is handcrafted in our own Florentine factory using natural materials and traditional techniques. We have also seen strong interest in our furniture, which often becomes an entry point into a longer relationship with the brand. Our fine linen bedding has been especially well-received. We introduce new pieces weekly, so the boutique is always evolving with fresh collections.
