With the transfer portal closed and Florida State football’s roster nearly complete, it is time to look ahead to the 2026 season. The Seminoles will be looking to bounceback from a disappointing 2025 season that saw them finish 5-7 and fail to make a bowl game.
Head coach Mike Norvell has once again overhauled the program, bringing in 56 new players through the transfer portal and high school ranks to try to upgrade the roster. They also have multiple new coaches on both sides of the ball for the second straight season.
While there is plenty of time until they start the 2026 season against the New Mexico State Aggies on Aug. 29, offseason workouts are here, and players can start to earn their spots ahead of spring practice. FSU Wire has put together a depth chart after all of FSU’s offseason moves to try to figure out just what the Seminoles will look like in 2026, and we will start with the offense.
While the wide receiver room is expected to be led by returning starters Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs, nearly the entire rest of the offense is a battle between newcomers and returning players vying for bigger roles. Here is a way-too-early depth chart projection for each position on offense.
FSU football projected 2026 offensive depth chart
Quarterback
Starter: Ashton Daniels
Backup: Kevin Sperry
Daniels enters the season as the projected starter after spending time at Stanford and Auburn. He is a mobile quarterback, and Gus Malzahn’s system should get the most out of him as a runner. He has struggled with accuracy and turnovers as a passer, and that needs to be cleaned up.
Sperry impressed coaches as a true freshman last year and will have a chance to push Daniels for the starting spot, and his experience in the system could help. Dean DeNobile and Malachi Marshall add depth to the room.
Running Back
Starters: Quintrevion Wisner, Ousmane Kromah
Backups: Samuel Singleton Jr., Gemari Sands
The Seminoles went out and targeted Wisner, a two-year starter at Texas, to add a proven running back to the room, and he should be the top running back. Kromah showed his sky-high potential as a true freshman last year and will be looking to have a breakout season.
Singleton had an impressive stretch to end the season and adds more depth to the room, while Sands is another experienced back and can help as a receiver out of the backfield.
Wide Receiver
Starters: Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, Jayvan Boggs
Backup: Teriq Mallory, Devin Carter, Jasen Lopez
FSU’s returning core of Robinson, Danzy, and Boggs is one of the best wide receiver trios in the ACC, but the room lacks depth behind them. Robinson is once again the No. 1 option, while Danzy will look to build on his breakout performance.
Several players will be battling for snaps behind them, but true freshmen Carter and Lopez both project as early impact players, and Mallory has the size to be a mismatch in the red zone or in jump ball situations.
Tight End
Starter: Landen Thomas
Backup: Desirrio Riles
FSU is unexpectedly having to replace starter Randy Pittman Jr. after he transferred out, but they were able to retain Thomas and add Riles through the portal. Thomas is looking to respond after a disappointing 2025 season, and Riles adds some experience to a room that desperately needed some.
Left Tackle
Starter: Xavier Chaplin
Backup: Chimdia Nwaiwu
Left Guard
Starter: Paul Bowling
Backup: Steven Moore
Center
Starter: Bradyn Joiner
Backup: Chavez Thompson
Right Guard
Starter: André Otto
Backup: Jayden Todd
Right Tackle
Starter: Nate Pabst
Backup: Jonathan Daniels
The Seminoles once again rebuilt their offensive line through the transfer portal, bringing in five new players. The group does not have as much experience as last year’s as a whole, but several players have multiple years of eligibility moving forward and could be multi-year starters. The group will need to come together quickly, something Herb Hand was able to make happen last year.
