FSU football, track star, Micahi Danzy hosting 2nd annual speed camp

Micahi Danzy knows what speed looks like.

One of the fastest sprinters in the nation, and arguably college football’s quickest player, he has Olympic-level speed and wants to pass his knowledge on to the Tallahassee community. Danzy is hosting his second annual speed camp at Florida High on Saturday, June 27, and the camp is sold out.

Camp participants will receive hands-on coaching in acceleration, sprint mechanics, agility, and athletic performance. Last year, Danzy’s camp drew 100’s of local kids to Florida High, with attendance expected to be the same for this year’s camp.

“We want every athlete who attends to leave more confident, more knowledgeable, and motivated to continue pursuing excellence,” said Tyrone McGriff, camp organizer, in a press release. “Micahi’s story represents what is possible through dedication, and we are excited to provide an opportunity for young athletes to learn from that example.”

Danzy broke out on the football field for FSU last season. He caught 27 passes for 571 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 216 yards with three additional touchdowns in 12 games. On the track, Danzy helped the Seminoles to a first-place finish in the 4X100 in the ACC Championship.
