FSU cornerback traget decommits from Nebraska

Florida State has been making waves on the recruiting trail over the past two weeks. One of their biggest targets, four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh, is even more of a possibility. On Tuesday, he decommitted from the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Bronaugh was in Tallahassee in March to watch spring practice. Last month, Bronaugh had an in-home visit with defensive coordinator Tony White, defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr., and safeties coach Evan Cooper, and things went well.

“It was good, pretty good. I liked how all of them came over,” Bronaugh told Warchant. “We had lunch and just had normal conversations about life. I really enjoyed it, and it shows me how much they care.”

Last weekend, Bronaugh was back on campus as the Seminoles hosted a plethora of top prospects. It was an eye-opener for the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder.

“It wasn’t what I was expecting. They’re high up on the board now. Just like the culture that they have and the development pieces too,” Bronaugh told Noles247.

This bodes well for FSU in their efforts to get Bronaugh. However, when he decommitted, he was on a visit with the Florida Gators, who have been predicted to land him.

Florida State will have to do quite a bit to stay in the race with its arch-rival. Hopefully, the ties to the coaching staff can win him over in the end.
