FSU baseball places five on All-ACC teams

The FSU Seminoles had five players named to the 2026 All-ACC team, the conference announced on Monday. The conference’s 16 head coaches voted on the teams, which featured three teams plus an All-Freshman team.

Wes Mendes was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year and made the First Team. Reliever John Abraham, starting pitcher Trey Beard, and outfielder Brayden Dowd made the Third Team. Outfielder John Stuetzer made the Freshman Team.

Mendes has a 2.68 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP in 84 innings pitched. He has made 14 starts for the Seminoles, pitching at least 5.0 innings in all of them and throwing two complete games. He has held opponents to a .201 batting average with 109 strikeouts, the second most in the ACC and 12th nationally.

Stuetzer is FSU’s first All-Freshman Team honoree since Cam Smith in 2023. He has started 46 games this season, hitting .269 with nine home runs, 10 doubles, and 41 RBI. He has a .484 slugging percentage and a .356 on-base percentage.

Abraham has been one of the best relievers in the country. The righty is third in the conference with six saves in 17 appearances and 43.1 innings pitched. He has a 1.04 ERA with five earned runs allowed on 28 hits, a 1.08 WHIP, and a .182 opponent batting average.

Dowd has consistently had some of the best at-bats for FSU, hitting .301 with a .461 on-base percentage. Mostly playing center field, he has 10 home runs and 12 doubles with 34 RBI and 13 stolen bases.

Beard has served as FSU’s No. 2 starter behind Mendes, posting a 4.78 ERA in 13 starts and 64.0 innings pitched. He has struckout 88 batters and walked 23, holding opponents to a .224 batting average.
