Florida State is looking for more running back talent to pair with four-star commit Jayden Miles in their 2027 class. In terms of their top targets, there’s a ton of momentum when it comes to three-star recruit Marquis Fennell out of Valdosta, Georgia.
He took his official visit to Tallahassee on June 5. Shortly after, the Seminoles received a prediction to land the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder. As he sets to make his decision on June 25 after visiting the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this weekend, FSU feels like they have put itself in a fantastic spot, according to Noles247.
Fennell didn’t receive an offer from Florida State until January. However, he’s taken three visits to their campus since then, which speaks to how much progress they’ve made in such a short time.
During his junior season at Valdosta High School, Fennell’s versatile playmaking ability was on full display. He registered 1,480 rushing yards and scored 23 touchdowns on the ground. Fennell was also very productive through the air, hauling in 53 receptions for 764 yards and 10 scores.
FSU has several key prospects that they need to close in the coming weeks, and that’s been somewhat of an issue for them. With the position they’re in with Fennell, they have to seal the deal.
He’s the No. 627 overall prospect and the No. 39 athlete in the country per the 247Sports composite rankings. They also have him ranked as the No. 76 recruit in the state of Georgia.
