The Florida State Seminoles hosted 2027 four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole for an official visit last weekend. Things went as smooth as butter, with the Seminoles coming out of the trip with multiple predictions to land the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder.
According to Noles247, the Seminoles have a lot of confidence when it comes to securing a commitment from Poole. However, a new contender has been added to the mix. The Georgia Bulldogs are making a push to get Poole on campus this coming weekend for an official visit, which makes things very interesting.
This certainly isn’t a threat to be taken lightly. The Seminoles have already beaten out the Bulldogs for four-star wide receiver Sean Green, who hails from Kingsland, Georgia. So, snagging Poole out of Macon at the last minute would be some sweet revenge for the SEC powerhouse.
For Florida State, they need to approach the final days before Poole’s decision with urgency and not even allow him to visit Georgia. He is a crucial commit for them to land, and it would undoubtedly give the Seminoles a much-needed boost in the 2027 recruiting rankings.
FSU suffered a big loss when four-star safety Mekhi Williams decommitted and pledged to the Wisconsin Badgers. Poole, an even higher-ranked player, would give the Seminoles a strong prospect to build the position around for the cycle.
The 247Sports composite rankings have Poole listed as the No. 64 recruit and the nation’s No. 5 safety. He also ranks as the No. 5 player in the state of Georgia. He is the highest-ranked player that FSU is involved with.
