Voters across Florida, including Duval County, will head to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 17 for the state’s 2026 Primary Election to decide or narrow the fields in several races, including three Duval County School Board seats, judges, Florida House seats, U.S. House and Senate seats, plus Florida governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, treasurer and more. Duval residents will also cast votes in a special election for an open City Council at-large seat.
Florida’s closed primary state status means that only registered voters within that party may vote in select primary contests. But all voters, depending on where they live, can vote in select non-partisan races like school board members and judges.
