A 34-year-old Crawfordville man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle wreck in rural Franklin County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around noon on March 24 on Sopchoppy Highway (U.S. Route 319) at McIntyre Road, a news release said. It’s about a half-mile south of the Ochlockonee River Bridge.
Here’s what happened, according to the release: The man, who was driving alone, was in an SUV heading north. (The agency does not identify crash victims in news releases.)
“For unknown reasons,” he left the roadway onto the shoulder, overcorrected and crossed over to the other shoulder, the release said. He overcorrected again, eventually causing the vehicle to roll over.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was flown to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee by Air Ambulance. Troopers were assisted on scene by Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and Weems EMS.
