Four-star running back Tyson Robinson is one of the top players in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and the Florida State Seminoles are working to become a factor in his recruitment. They have a chance to make a move later this month when he returns to Tallahassee.
Robinson is set to attend their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Aug. 30, according to Chad Simmons of Rivals. That will be his second visit of the season and the third overall since they offered him a scholarship back in April of 2024.
He is ranked as the No. 40 overall player and No. 4 running back in the Rivals industry ranking. The Jackson native is also the No. 2 player from Mississippi.
Robinson had a strong sophomore season for Brandon High School, helping them go 12-2 and make the state championship game. He finished the season with 176 carries for 1,295 yards and 24 touchdowns, averaging 7.4 yards per run. He also caught 42 passes for 668 yards and 10 more touchdowns.
Florida State’s running back recruiting is in an interesting spot right now. They signed one of the best running backs in the country in Ousmane Kromah in 2025, but do not have one committed in the 2026 or 2027 cycle after Amari Thomas flipped to South Carolina. Making a move in Robinson’s recruitment could go a long way in helping address such a key position.
