One person was injured on Aug. 12 after a white pickup truck crashed through a railing and into a stormwater retention area in northeast Tallahassee.
Police were called to Centerville Road near the intersection where it becomes Welaunee Boulevard at about 2:30 p.m. A Tallahassee Police Department watch commander told the Democrat at 3:15 p.m. there were “no life threatening injuries” and the the road would be opened soon.
It is not clear how the white pickup apparently jumped the sidewalk, crashed through a guard rail and fell to the ground into a thicket of trees yards away from a retention pond.
A Tallahassee Democrat photographer said the truck landed on its side and that the person was already taken to the hospital. The extent of injuries is not known at this time.
First responders at the scene said they were waiting on a tow truck to pull the truck back onto the road.
