NFL teams always need more offensive line depth, and that’s been evident for the Miami Dolphins early in camp, as their backup tackles have struggled in their opportunities to protect their quarterbacks.
With that, the Dolphins saw an opportunity and pounced on Monday, trading a 2028 sixth-round pick to the New England Patriots for offensive lineman Caedan Wallace and a 2029 seventh-round pick.
Wallace, 26, played at Penn State from 2019-23 before the Patriots took him in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft. While it was believed that he could be a starting tackle for them, but he missed a good chunk of his rookie year with injuries and sat on the bench for most of the 2025 season.
At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, Wallace could fit in at guard or tackle for the Dolphins, but the need for Miami is more at tackle right now.
