Crestview celebrates the holidays with Christmas parade

They came early and stayed late for the annual Christmas parade in Crestview on Dec. 7.

The parade, originally scheduled for Dec. 6, was postponed due to inclement weather. On the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 7, the rain stopped, and the parade rolled out.

By 4 p.m. on Sunday, people already were lining the streets in anticipation of the parade. Children and adults alike were finding their spots along the parade route and had their bags in hand ready to catch candy.

Before the parade rolled down Main Street, the huge tree next to the courthouse lit up following a countdown.

With a cool mist in the air, the parade started and lasted about an hour and a half.

Once the parade had cleared, the blockades along the route were removed and children rushed the street to gather up the rest of the candy.
