Cooler, drier weather is expected to hit the Treasure Coast

Florida is expected to cool down going into the weekend, with the weather hovering around the upper 60s for the Treasure Coast.

Temperatures should begin to dip into the upper 60s in the mornings by Sunday or Monday, with the highs being in the 80s, National Weather Service Meteorologist Robert Haley told TCPalm.

“Some conditions are going to support the development of a low-pressure system on the boundary. It’ll be over the Atlantic water just off the coast and then that low-pressure system lifts quickly northward away,” Haley said. “This will reinforce cooler air and definitely drier air behind the front.”

These conditions will bring worsening beach and marine conditions, coastal flooding, beach erosion and high surf. In Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, Port St. Lucie, Stuart and Vero Beach, there are currently three statements, advisories watches in place:

In St. Lucie County, Ocean Bay Beachside Park, located at 7600 S. Ocean Drive, and Walton Rocks Beach, located at 6700 S. Ocean Drive, were closed due to excessive water in the parking lot and entrance roads, according to an Oct. 8 news release from County spokesperson Erick Gill.
