The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Bucs still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 9 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.
While we will always look at mock drafts from analysts around the space, we will also keep up with our Mock Draft Mondays here on Bucs Wire.
While this used to be just an exercise used for the Fall to introduce players, the 2027 NFL Draft class is too good to be contained to those select months. Instead, we are going to do them in the summer. As we progress and complete Summer Scouting, we get to look at the roster more through camp, and also share our opinion on players that fans can watch this upcoming college season.
So with that in mind, let’s dive into a 3-Round 2027 NFL Mock Draft for the Bucs.
Round 1: Ellis Robinson IV, CB, Georgia
The Bucs’ secondary added Keionte Scott in the NFL Draft to be their new nickel with Jacob Parrish moving outside. Opposite Parrish is Zyon McCollum, but he has been injured, and the contract he was awarded seems to be a bit much at this point. If Ellis Robinson IV were to fall to them in their projected spot of 14th in the draft, they should SPRINT that selection in. Robinson is a big corner with great ball skills and instincts, and projects to be the best Georgia cornerback prospect in some time.
Round 2: A.J. Holmes, DL, Texas Tech
If the team moves on from Vita Vea via trade due to their contract issues, they will need to replace his presence in the middle. Spending a second-round pick on A.J. Holmes makes sense considering the size and run-stuffing ability he would bring to the line. Of course, if Todd Bowles is not the coach beyond 2026, then things could look different on the defensive line, but until that happens, they need to find someone who can man the middle of their line.
Round 3: Terrance Carter Jr., TE, Texas Tech
I am a big fan of Terrance Carter Jr., going back to the Summer of 2025. He is excellent after the catch, something the Bucs need at the tight end position, and he could even be a bigger slot option in different sets. Carter also blocks pretty well, which we also know the Bucs value at the position. In Round three, the selection of Carter is a low-risk, high-reward move that we know Jason Licht loves on day two of the draft.
Round 3 (via projected trade with Minnesota): Wyatt Young, WR, Oklahoma State
The extra third-round pick comes with an additional fifth in a trade that sends Vita Vea to the Minnesota Vikings. While we helped the defense with the first two picks, we are boosting the offense in the final two in this mock. We added a dynamic tight end, but now I want to add a potential slot receiver replacement for Chris Godwin. Wyatt Young has the size and shiftiness that you want from a slot. He plays the Z-receiver role right now for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, but I believe a move inside could be in play.
