Blue-chip running back to visit FSU when they play ACC rival

Florida State football is working to build on the two commitments they have so far in the 2028 recruiting cycle. Running back is one of the positions they’re after the most, and four-star prospect Dalen Powell is high on their list.

He was extended a scholarship offer from FSU back in March. It was his visit for a camp in June that got things rolling in terms of the Seminoles making Powell feel like a priority thanks to running backs coach Kam Martin. Now, the 6-foot, 190-pounder has set a game visit with Florida State on Oct. 31 when they play the Clemson Tigers in a Halloween matchup, per Matt LaSerre of Warchant.

Powell is the No. 211 overall player nationally and the No. 14 running back in Rivals industry rankings. They also have him ranked as the No. 3 prospect in Louisiana.

His sophomore campaign was a success at Ruston High School. He gained 1,156 yards on 160 carries (7.2 yards per attempt) and scored 15 touchdowns. As a pass catcher, Powell hauled in 18 receptions for 239 yards and three scores.

FSU is recruiting four-star linebacker Shamar Evans out of Ruston High School as well. He transferred from Forest High School in Mississippi. Also, the Seminoles will see four-star running back Noble Williams for twice during the season. He plays at Alexandria High School in Louisiana.

Florida State is one of the top schools in Powell’s recruitment. The other top programs are the Ole Miss Rebels, LSU Tigers, and the Auburn Tigers.
