Baseball America moves Florida State up slightly in new poll

Florida State baseball won its three-game series against the Clemson Tigers 2-1 over the weekend. With an overall record of 36-15, they look poised to finish the season strong with just one more series remaining.

Baseball America’s top 25 rankings seemed to appreciate their solid week, as in their rankings, FSU moved up to No. 11 in the country, a one-spot increase.

Last week, Florida State was ranked No. 12 nationally. Now, they are sandwiched between No. 10 Arkansas (34-18, 15-12 SEC) and No. 12 Mississippi State (38-14, 15-12 SEC). The ACC now has just three ranked teams in the updated poll, with Florida State being the third-best ACC team behind the No. 2 North Carolina Tar Heels and No. 3 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Boston College has fallen out of the Top 25 since last week.

FSU’s upcoming schedule is one final conference series against its bitter rivals, the Miami Hurricanes. After that, they will seek to go far in the ACC Tournament. The Seminoles are 24-3 when they are at home. But they are just 10-9 when they are on the road.
