4 things to know about Dolphins third-round pick Caleb Douglas

After making three picks through the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins made their first pick in the third round at No. 75 overall, taking wide receiver Caleb Douglas.

Douglas was the first of three wide receivers to join Miami’s 2026 draft class and will certainly have some competition for reps as a rookie.

Before Douglas joins the Dolphins in South Florida for their offseason program, let’s introduce him to the fan base.

Measurables

Douglas is 6-foot-3 and weighs 206 pounds. At the combine, he ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash with a 1.55-second 10-yard split. He also recorded a 31.5-inch vertical jump and a 126-inch broad jump.

College Stats/Achievements

As a three-star recruit, Douglas committed to Florida, where he spent two years with the Gators. He transferred to Texas Tech for the final two years of his college career. In 40 games, he caught 135 passes for 2,031 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also earned All-Big 12 honors this past season.

Nickname

The Dolphins may have lost “The Cheetah” and “The Penguin” this offseason, but Douglas enters the league with his own nickname – Payday.

Expected Role

Miami traded Jaylen Waddle and cut both Tyreek Hill and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine this offseason. They may have brought in Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell and Terrace Marshall Jr., but none of them are guaranteed starters. This means Douglas will have an opportunity to compete for a large role this offseason, and if he shows out, he could be Malik Willis’ top wide receiver in 2026.
