During the 2024 Paris Olympic Games two years ago, Team USA pulled off an unforgettable comeback on August 8 against Team Serbia before defeating Victor Wembanyama and Team France two days later (August 10) to secure the gold medal. The medal marked Curry’s first Olympic gold and Steve Kerr’s first as a head coach, after winning one in 2020 as an assistant.
In the semifinals against Serbia, Curry had one of the greatest Olympic basketball performances of all-time, scoring 36 points and knocking down nine 3-pointers as the Americans stormed back to outscore the Serbians 32-15 in the final frame. Curry added eight rebounds, two assists and one steal. LeBron James played his part as well, posting a triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Ultimately Team USA escaped with a narrow four-point victory over Serbia, and Nikola Jokic, who finished with 17 points, 11 assists and five rebounds.
