The San Francisco 49ers, after battling injuries throughout their 2025 campaign, have had the same luck early on in training camp before their 2026 season.
Now, early in San Francisco’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, cornerback Jack Jones has departed in the first quarter with a hand injury. The team announced that he’s questionable to return on Thursday.
Jones, 28, joined the 49ers back in April after stints with the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins. In 59 career games in his four seasons in the league, he’s recorded 213 tackles, 33 passes defensed, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
He’s made quite a few plays in camp and could realistically challenge for a respectable role in San Francisco’s secondary if he’s healthy.
UPDATE: The team later announced that Jones has been ruled out for the game.
