Big Ten Conference action started for the UCLA Bruins this past weekend, with the Bruins picking up a sweep over the Wisconsin Badgers. The Bruins outscored Wisconsin 38-14 over the three games.
UCLA isn’t just leading the Big Ten in the standings, but on the statistics leaderboards as well. Bruin seniors Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery have been leaving the rest of the Big Ten in the dust, as the two UCLA stars have both gotten off to unbelievable starts to the 2026 season.
The two Bruin sluggers have combined for 32 home runs, with Grant owning the top spot with 18 and Woolery in second place with 14. Michigan’s Lauren Putz is in third place with 12. Grant and Woolery have combined for more home runs than 10 of the 18 Big Ten teams.
As of Wednesday, there are three players in the Big Ten batting .500 or better, and UCLA has two of them with Grant and Woolery. Grant is at .538, and Woolery is at .507. The two Bruins trail Purdue’s Moriah Polar, who leads the conference with a .579 average but doesn’t possess the power of Grant or Woolery.
Woolery and Grant also lead the Big Ten in RBI, with Woolery at 50 and Grant at 43. Putz is again right behind the UCLA duo with 39 RBI. It’s not too surprising that Grant and Wooley also pace the Big Ten in OPS, as Grant is at 1.635 and Woolery at 1.233.
UCLA is off to a 21-3 start to its season thanks to its two senior sluggers, with the Bruins appearing to be a threat to appear in the Women’s College World Series for a third-straight year.
