Two Oxnard brothers were arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in Oxnard on March 12.
Officers with the Oxnard Police Department arrived at the emergency room of St. John’s Regional Medical Center at about 1:15 a.m. and found a 22-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his lower torso, according to a department news release.
The man told police that he had been attacked by two men in the 2000 block of East Pleasant Valley Road in Oxnard, police officials said.
Police investigators gathered evidence identifying the stabbing suspects as two brothers, ages 18 and 19, out of Oxnard, said police Detective Diego Estrada.
The 18-year-old was arrested March 13 in the 2600 block of El Dorado Avenue after allegedly attempting to flee, police officials said. The 19-year-old was arrested on March 17 in the 4700 block of Hamilton Avenue.
The two were booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of felonies for assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injuries that required surgery and conspiracy, authorities said.
The elder brother remains in jail with bail set at $25,000, while the younger brother was released without bail on March 18, jail records show.
They are both scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on March 19, records show.
