Miniso, an international retailer with 7,700 stores, officially opened in the Visalia Mall on Jan. 24.
Miniso founder Guofu Ye was inspired by several specialty stores which stocked good quality, well designed, and inexpensive products that were mostly manufactured in China. The company began in a Guangzhou garage about 10 years ago.
Miniso stores offer a wide selection of merchandise, including toys, collectibles, beauty products, home goods, pet supplies, stationery, snacks and accessories. Miniso also features products from major brands such as Sanrio, Disney, Harry Potter and Peanuts.
The trendy store is the latest for Visalia; in October 2024, Daiso, a chain of “100-yen” retail stores featuring discount products from Japan, opened the first Tulare County store at 4043 S. Mooney Blvd.
The 7,020-square-foot Daiso store offers a wide range of products, including Japanese home decor, craft supplies, toys, gardening supplies, beauty items, kitchenware and stationery, and features items that are hard to find in the Central Valley, such as animal training chopsticks, Calbee Takoyaki Balls (octopus flavor corn snacks), vacuum compression bags and food-inspired plushies.
Daiso is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
