Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt injury updates: Full participation at OTAs

The Chargers’ offensive line took a major step forward this week as offensive tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt returned to the field during Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

The Athletic’s Daniel Popper described both players as “moving very well” in drills.

Slater, the veteran left tackle, missed the entire 2025 season after suffering a torn patellar tendon in training camp. Alt, the former first-round pick who emerged as one of the league’s top right tackles, was limited to just six games in 2025 due to a high ankle sprain that eventually required season-ending surgery.

When asked if he expects both Slater and Alt to be ready for the start of training camp in July, head coach Harbaugh said, “It looks that way.”

A healthy Slater-Alt tandem could transform the Chargers’ offensive line from a major liability into a strength, especially after the reconstruction of the interior.
