Rams rival is signing rookie Chris Paul Jr. to its practice squad

Chris Paul Jr. may have gone unclaimed off waivers, but it didn’t take him long to find a new home. The former Los Angeles Rams rookie is signing with the Seattle Seahawks as a member of their practice squad, according to a source.

Paul was a fifth-round pick out of Ole Miss this year, going 172nd overall after the Rams traded up 29 spots for him. It’s surprising that he didn’t choose to stay with Los Angeles on the practice squad, though it’s unclear if the Rams offered him a spot after he cleared waivers.

The writing was on the wall after Sean McVay wished Paul “nothing but the best” during his press conference on Tuesday, an indication that the two sides were headed for a permanent split following Paul’s release.

He’ll now head to Seattle where he can try to develop into a contributor on defense for one of the Rams’ rivals.
