Quartz Fire in Redding stopped at 2 acres on Saturday

Two fires broke out Saturday, June 6 in the Redding area.

The Quartz Fire, reported at 6:46 p.m., burned 2 acres of vegetation in the area of Quartz Hill Road and Terra Nova Drive before firefighters stopped it. They were expected to remain on scene for two hours, according to Watch Duty, an application that tracks wildfires.

The second incident was the Clear Fire, reported at 11:32 a.m. in the 1700 block of Clear Creek Road. Firefighters stopped the fire at 3 acres and continued to stamp out embers. They were cleared from the scene at 4:30 p.m., according to Watch Duty.
