Thursday’s contest against the Boston Celtics could mark the start of the Kristaps Porzingis era for the Golden State Warriors. After missing his first four chances to suit up in blue and gold after being traded to Golden State from the Atlanta Hawks at the NBA trade deadline, the former All-Star big man has a chance to suit up for the Warriors on Thursday night against his former team, the Celtics.
After practicing with the Warriors during the All-Star break and scrimmaging on Wednesday, Porzingis has been upgraded to questionable for Thursday’s game against the Celtics. Porzingis last played on Jan. 7 for the Atlanta Hawks. The Latvian big man has missed 13 games in a row with left Achilles tendinitis.
Despite being listed as questionable on the injury report, Porzingis appears to be ready to return to the court on Thursday. When talking to the media on Wednesday, Porzingis said he’s “feeling good” and is “ready to go.”

Porzingis has played 17 games for the Hawks this season, averaging 17.1 points on 45.7% shooting from the field and 36% from beyond the arc to go along with 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Porzingis played two seasons with the Celtics, winning a championship in Boston in 2024.
