Burke Catholic 48: McCoy Rothe scored 19 points, Jahmire Snyder 15, Jayden Williams 11 and Myles Coons and Devonte Brodhead seven apiece for Saugerties, which bounced back from a slow start and moved the ball quicker afterward. For Burke, Ehsan Watson scored 13, Jordan Davis 10 and Owen Angeloro nine. Saugerties will play Red Hook in the semifinals.
Section 9-A quarterfinal – at No. 2 Red Hook 96, No. 7 Highland 57: Matt Simmons scored 33 points to lift Red Hook (19-2). For Highland (14-7), Michael Koehler had 26 points (reaching 1,019 career points).
Section 9-C semifinal – at No. 1 Mount Academy 88, No. 5 S.S. Seward 53: Bruce Maendel scored 28 points, Dominic Meier 25, Cedric Rimes 14 and Kelian Meier 10 for Mount (15-5). For Seward (8-14), Grey Whitmore had 20 points, Blake Coontz 14 and Nick Derosa 11. The Mount faces Eldred in Wednesday’s, 5 p.m. final at Mount Saint Mary.
Section 9-C semifinal -at No. 2 Eldred 59, No. 3 Rockland 50: Koen McGill scored 20 points and James Deyermond 18 for Eldred. For Rockland, Tyler McCray had 18 and Ben Johnson 16. Eldred will face Mount Academy in Wednesday’s 5 p.m. final at Mount Saint Mary.
