Crowds of spectators lined the streets of downtown Salinas Sunday to cheer on the city’s youngest cowboys and cowgirls in the Kiddie Kaper Parade.
This year’s theme was “Once Upon a Rodeo” and the Grand Marshal, Jaizel Mendoza.
The procession featured floats, kids on bikes, trotting ponies and stellar performances by local dance troops, drill teams, ballet folklorico and the North Salinas High School Vikings marching band.
The event kicks off Big Week in the lead up to the California Rodeo Salinas on Wednesday at the Salinas Sports Complex.
