The Los Angeles Lakers host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal playoff series, and if you’re wondering how you can watch all the action live, you’ve come to the right place.
It’s officially do-or-die time for the Lakers after their 131-108 defeat in Game 3 on Saturday. That contest followed the same script as Game 2 — they kept pace just enough in the first quarter before getting hot and taking a slight lead at halftime, only to get completely blitzed in the second half. Los Angeles simply hasn’t been able to sustain a high level of play for more than one or two quarters in this series, and turnovers and defensive rebounding continue to be big problems.
They will need not only a better defensive effort, better ball security and better work on the boards, but also better production from multiple players. Austin Reaves was 5-of-13 from the field and had five turnovers on Saturday. DeAndre Ayton gave a half-hearted effort that resulted in him getting benched early in the fourth quarter, and Marcus Smart needs to manufacture more points and shoot better from 3-point range.
Down 3-0 in the series, L.A. simply wants to avoid getting swept, at least for now. It will have its home fans at Crypto.com Arena on its side, and there is always the chance the Thunder will get a little too complacent and comfortable with the cushion they have. On the other hand, the Thunder are a championship team, and they know that spotting an opponent even one victory in a series could mean trouble.
Game 5, if needed, will take place back in Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
