Normal summer weather has arrived, with the National Weather Service issuing a heat advisory for San Bernardino County.
On Wednesday, San Bernardino County Health Officer Dr. Sharon Wang urged residents to take precautions as extreme heat is expected to continue through Sunday.
In the Victor Valley, places like Adelanto, Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victorville are expected to reach temperatures in the 97 to 102 range.
Further north in Barstow, temperatures are expected to hover around 105 degrees. Las Vegas should see an average high of 108.
High temperatures in San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario should range between 96 and 102.
An extreme heat warning has been issued for the Low Desert, which should see highs between 108 and 114 degrees.
From the first day of summer through July 31, Victor Valley high temperatures hovered mainly in the 80s and 90s, with weather experts calling it unseasonably cooler weather, the Daily Press reported.

“The summer heat can be dangerous, and everyone should take the right steps to stay safe. Heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke can be very serious, especially for those who are more vulnerable,” Wang said. “By keeping cool, drinking plenty of water, and staying informed, we can protect ourselves and those we care about from extreme heat. Being aware of summer heat isn’t just about staying comfortable; it’s about ensuring public health and safety.”
Residents are encouraged to learn the warning signs and symptoms of heat-related illness and are advised to take the necessary precautions to prevent serious health effects such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke by following these tips:
