The Chargers could finally get the job done in 2026.
Many believe that could be the case, including ESPN NFL insider Mina Kimes. In a recent interview with Chargers.com, Kimes said the Bolts’ ceiling is the Super Bowl.
“Ceiling is Super Bowl,” Kimes said.
“It’s a Super Bowl contender. “If you’re listing the teams that have a realistic shot at it, I think L.A. is in the mix.”
Kimes said the reason is the dynamic, explosive offense that Mike McDaniel is expected to showcase in Los Angeles.
“It’s one of the hottest topics of the entire offseason,” Kimes said. “We’ve talked about it a ton on “NFL Live”, everybody is so excited to see what Mike McDaniel does here with these weapons, some of the guys he brought in, the evolution of it, how it helps Justin Herbert. I would also add how it helps some of the existing wide receivers, I’ll be optimistic and interested.
“I feel like the entire NFL media is going to be watching Week 1 very closely,” Kimes added.
All eyes will be on the Chargers and their offense. That unit is expected to be one of the best in the NFL, led by McDaniel and Justin Herbert.
The Chargers have yet to record a playoff win with Herbert at the helm, and 2026 is a golden opportunity for them to do just that. It’s been one shortcoming after another for Los Angeles, especially in the last two seasons.
However, that is expected to change as the team heads into year three with Jim Harbaugh at the helm and a revamped Chargers team ready to take a leap.
