The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-7 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, ending a long-two week road trip that brought Sean McVay’s team from Los Angeles to Baltimore and across the Atlantic Ocean to London before returning home with their victory.
Now, the Rams will get some much-deserved time off with a bye week in Week 8, before playing their final 10 games of the regular season and hopefully making the postseason for the third year in a row.
In those final 10 weeks, Los Angeles still has plenty of important battles left that could significantly impact how the rest of the year plays out. With that, let’s take a look at some of their biggest remaining contests.
Week 10 @ San Francisco
San Francisco and Los Angeles are currently tied atop the division, and the 49ers took the first game of their season series 26-23 in an overtime, Thursday night battle in Week 5. Brock Purdy could be back by then, making things even more difficult for the Rams.
Week 11 vs. Seattle
The Rams and Seahawks still have two meetings this year, and this will be the first. With the Seahawks also tied atop the NFC West right now, it will be very important for Los Angeles to win another division game.
Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay has started their season with a 5-2 record, and with the way Baker Mayfield has played through the first seven weeks, they could be fighting for a top seed in the conference. Winning a game against a quality opponent will only strengthen Los Angeles’ belief in themselves.
Week 15 vs. Detroit
Like Tampa Bay, Detroit has also started 5-2, and they just beat the Buccaneers 24-9 on Sunday. Dan Campbell and Jared Goff seem to have some magic in them, and any time Goff and Matthew Stafford face off against their old teams, there will be extra attention on them.
Week 16 @ Seattle
Not only is the second game of the division series against the Seahawks, but this game being on the road so late in the season could mean several things. The Rams could be securing the division win with this victory and potentially setting themselves up to rest some players in the last week or two. Conversely, a loss could spell disaster and force, if the conditions aren’t in Los Angeles’ favor heading into Week 16.
