The San Francisco 49ers entered Monday’s legal-tampering period with a clear hole at wide receiver, with Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne, Skyy Moore and Trent Taylor all slated to leave this offseason.
However, on Monday afternoon, the 49ers agreed to terms with Mike Evans on a three-year, $60.4 million deal that, when it becomes official, will make him San Francisco’s top receiver.
Immediately after the news broke, 49ers tight end George Kittle took to social media to celebrate and welcome Evans to the team.
Kittle will likely miss a chunk of the year due to a torn Achilles, but when he returns, he and Evans could create quite a problem for opposing defenses while giving Brock Purdy two big targets to throw to.
