Port Huron/Main Library partners with Canadian Libraries for Cross-Border Wave

By The St. Clair County Library System

Port Huron, MI (August 8, 2023) – This Saturday, August 12, 2023, the Port Huron/Main Children’s Library partners with Lambton County’s Point Edward and Sarnia Library Branches for a Trolley Parade & Cross-Border Wave beneath the Blue Water Bridge. Children from our libraries exchanged pen pal letters this summer, and now we’ll have the chance to wave to each other from our respective sides of the St. Clair River.

We’ll start on the west lawn of the Main Library with a pizza picnic, then board the trolley (or jump in our cars to follow in the trolley parade) and drive to the Blue Water Bridge, where we’ll wave to our Canadian friends under the bridge on the other side of the St. Clair River.

Noon – Pizza Picnic

1 pm – Trolley Parade drives to the Blue Water Bridge

1:30 pm – Cross-border wave

2 pm – Trolley returns to the library

*The first 19 children and eight adults to register have seats on the trolley. All others will need transportation to and from the Blue Water Bridge. Call the Children’s Library (810) 987-7323 ext. 2515 to register or for more details.
