By The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343
The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 honors our Vietnam Veteran Members. On Monday, November 3rd, each Elk Member in attendance, who served during the Vietnam conflict receive a National Commemorative lapel pin, presented by Pentagon Representative Gene Nethhaway, American Legion 8th District Commander. Along the national recognition pin, the Veterans also received a State of Michigan Veterans lapel pin presented by Michelle Fickes, Veterans Engagement Officer for the Stare of Michigan. We were able to recognize and honor 17 Veterans during the afternoons event, sponsored by Lodge 343 Veterans committee who also provided beverages and snacks during the event.
Other points of interest: We will host our 3rd annual Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 and ENVSC Free Hot Dog Roast on Wednesday, November 12th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Yale VA, Veterans Clinic. On Wednesday, December 10th from 8:30 am to 12-noon in the Veterans Wellness room we will be hosting our bi-monthly free “Coffee & Donut Day at the Yale VA”. These events are sponsored by Port Huron Elks Lodge 343, the MiElks Association, ENVSC, and the Yale VA. This is our way to say thank you, to our Veterans, active Military and first responders for their service. Please feel free to stop in, even without a scheduled appointment, we would enjoy your company.
On another note: The ENVSC and Lodge 343 continue with our monthly (2) $25.00 free gas gift card “give-a-way” program now into our 3rd year. For the month of October, Veterans Meg McAleese, US Army & Randy Piotter, US Navy were the two lucky local Veterans drawn in our monthly Marathon Gas Gift card drawing, congratulations!
