Zeeland East's Bennett Bing leaps at college track and field chance, commits

Zeeland East’s Bennett Bing showed a lot of potential during his junior track and field season.

Bing used his springs to become one of the top high jumpers in the state.

It led to another opportunity for his future. After his spring senior season, Bing will continue his career at Hope College after committing to his hometown school.

“I’m super excited about committing to Hope,” Bing said. “A lot of my family has attended Hope in the past and I absolutely love the atmosphere of the school. On the sports side of things, I am beyond excited to be apart of the team and see what new goals I can meet, whether that is placing in a meet or making it farther in the conference.”

Bing finished second in the OK Black Conference (6-2), fourth at regionals and 13th at the state finals (6-3).

“Bennett was our field event leader this year. He qualified for the state meet and missed out on all-state due to number of misses,” last year’s Zeeland East coach Ralph Neal said. “As a staff we are excited to see how his senior year turns out.”
