Wright & Co. restaurant closing in July after 12 years

“For more than a decade, you’ve made us part of your first dates, anniversaries, celebrations, late-night cocktails, and countless unforgettable evenings. What started as a restaurant became a gathering place, and that’s because of the people who walked through our doors,” reads the post.

While Wright & Co. will no longer serve dinner, according to the post, they will host private events, celebrations and special gatherings, though no other details were provided.

Wright & Co. is known for its seasonal menu and shared plates concept. With oversized windows, it’s one of the best views to take in Woodward Avenue. On its menu is a variety of items, from an artisanal cheese board to pork belly sliders, crispy chicken sandwich and charcuterie. Its crispy Brussels sprouts are served with sweet chili sauce, and there are its house-made potato chips with cheddar cheese sauce, bacon and tomato relish. Its chef and co-owner is Marc Djozlija, a James Beard Award 2015 Best Chefs in America Great Lakes semifinalist.

Wright & Co. landed on the first Detroit Free Press/Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Top 10 Best New Restaurants list. It was also the first restaurant that kicked off the Detroit Free Press/Chevy Detroit popular Top 10 Takeover dining series, now in its 12th year.

At 1500 Woodward Ave., Wright & Co. is in the former Wright-Kay building. Its entrance is on John R with an elevator to the second floor.
