Woman shot to death in Clinton Township domestic dispute, police say

A male suspect was being held after a woman was shot to death during a domestic dispute in Clinton Township, police said.

A female was found in the upstairs of a residence in the 22000 block of 15 Mile Road, where Clinton Township police responded on a report of shots fired. The victim had been shot multiple times, police said in a Jan. 30 news release, and live-saving measures were unsuccessful.

The preliminary investigation indicated there was a domestic argument between the victim and a male inside the residence. As the argument escalated, the male pulled out a handgun and shot her, then called 911 to report the incident, police said. He was taken into custody at the scene.

Police were investigating, but did not have an update on Sunday, Feb. 1. The news release requested anyone with information to call police at 586-493-7802.

Police did not release the names, ages or hometowns of those involved nor their relationship. It also did not say what the argument was about in its release, if any charges had been filed or if an arraignment was held.
