Woman charged with attempted murder in stabbing at south Lansing restaurant

LANSING — A Lansing woman has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident Sunday, Sept. 7, at an Applebee’s restaurant in south Lansing.

Kristen Wilcox, 26, was arraigned Tuesday, Sept. 9, in 54A District Court on a charge of assault with intent to murder, court records indicate.

The incident happened about 4:15 p.m. at the restaurant on South Cedar Street, north of East Edgewood Boulevard, police and prosecutors said.

A 34-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen, police said. The man was listed in critical but stable condition on Sept. 8. No update on his condition was given on Tuesday.

Lansing police said two people were taken into custody, but the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office announced charges against only one person. The circumstances surrounding the alleged assault were not released.

Court records indicate Wilcox asked for a court-appointed lawyer, and no attorney was listed for her in court records.
