Who was voted off 'Survivor' last night? Merge, blindside at tribal council

The remaining castaways of “Survivor” season 49 now all share the same camp after making it to the “merge,” but one contestant didn’t enjoy the accomplishment long after being blindsided at tribal council.

On Wednesday, Nov. 5, the 10 castaways merged into one tribe at Day 14, more than halfway through the season. The merge shook up existing alliances from old Hina and old Uli tribes, making tribal council especially tense. Film producer, Nate Moore, 47 from California was blindsided and sent home.

Prior to tribal council, castaways competed for food and immunity in a two-part challenge. Those who won the first part were rewarded with a meal and a chance for immunity, which Sophie Segreti, 31, of Maryland, captured.

The merge forced the castaways to flex their social skills as alliances plotted against each other. During discussions at at camp, many players were mentioned as possible vote targets, including Steven Ramm, Rizo Velovic (who had an immunity idol), Kristina Mills, “MC” Chukwujekwu (who also had an immunity idol and played it at tribal council), and Moore.

As the tribes merged, host Jeff Probst told the players that the final portion of the game is where people create “Survivor” legends. He added that those who wanted a shot at “Survivor 50” needed to create that legend now.

There are now 10 castaways in the running for the $1 million prize.

Here’s a look at the latest episode of “Survivor,” and how to watch next Wednesday.

Who got voted off ‘Survivor’ last night?

Probst extinguished Moore’s torch at tribal council. Moore was originally with the Uli tribe and was still loyal to that alliance with Kristina Mills, Jawan Pitts, Rizo Velovic, Sophi Balerdi and Alex Moore.

To the Uli alliance’s surprise, Jawan Pitts, Sage Ahrens-Nichols and Steven Ramm joined a group that called itself “bottoms-up” that was on a mission to vote out Uli players. With the majority votes from the “bottoms-up,” alliance, and old Hina players, Moore was sent home — making him the first jury member at the season’s finale.

Steven Ramm was the only other name written down at tribal council.
